Today most books about personal development will include some NLP techniques, although they may not be labelled as such.
One of the most profound ideas of NLP is that of "modelling" i.e if one person can do something, then it should be a possible to find out what they are doing and how, and replicate it.
The four legs of NLP or the principles of NLP as they are something known, help us to achieve this modelling process. The fundamentals of NLP are as follows.
Outcome - Know what you want.

NLP is underpinned by a number of presuppositions some of which are:
- Choice is better than no choice
- If you always do what you've done you always get what you've always got
- If what you are doing isn't working, do something else
- There is no failure, only feedback
- The meaning of your communications is the response you get
- People already have the resources that they need.
Having read these presuppositions yourself if one or two of them strike a chord, or you hear yourself saying "that sounds like me" or you see yourself acting in a certain way.

Tuina is the practice of massage techniques which make up the practical strand of traditional Chinese medicine. Massage techniques stimulate acupuncture points in different parts of the body, which help correct imbalances of the yin and yang energies in the body.
Traditional Chinese medicine looks at the patient as a whole person and treats the cause of the illness or condition, not just the symptoms. It believes that it is not possible to separate the physical and a pathological condition. Chinese medicine aims to understand what is causing or creating an obstacle in the flow if energy in the body, and Tuina Chinese massage works on re-establishing the balance and harmony of those energies thus returning the patient to a state of wellbeing.

This form of massage is based on Yoga positions for both the giver and receiver. It is slightly different from a "tradtional" or Swedish Body Massage in that it takes the muscle off the bone, rather than compressing the muscle against the bone. It has been called "Yoga for the Lazy".
The meridians of the body are followed using a rhythmic pressure to release any blockage. Starting at the feet and working up towards the head. The muscle is then moved away from the bone and the joints manipulated to allow the energy or Chi to move freely through joints and meridians.

Reflexology can also be used in pre-conception care, pregnancy care and priming labour. It is effective in helping reduce the nausea in pregnancy, backache and oedema. It is also one of the top three complementary therapies recommended for use during pregnancy and pain-relief during labour.
Used during labour figures show that the birth time can be reduced and the mother recovers more quickly after birth by using Reflexology as an aid.
A full pre-treatment consultation will be taken before any Reflexology is given for all clents. A copy of these records is available for you to take away and include with your birth notes and share with your midwife and doctor.
