It just cannot be avoided all the doom and gloom around us at the moment, all the talk of recession, credit crunch, and falling house prices, and fuel prices on the increase, we have to consider the emotional cost this has on us as a society. Debt can cause havoc in our lives, and we juggle things from one pot to another, but ultimately its our emotional well-being that can suffer in my opinion. The symptoms can be anxiety, stress, and depression. Alongside the debt, counselling that is available for people in serious debt, there is Counselling to talk about the issues of anxiety, and stress, and the daily implications of this.
The other big issue at the moment is thousands of people have lost their jobs, and are continuing to do so on a daily basis, and again the impact of this on their self esteem, and confidence will leave them in tatters. Alongside this their relationships usually suffer also, as the breadwinner is no longer earning and
this can lead to arguments, and resentment, and ultimately end their relationship.
