Provision of the best balance of all the nutrients the body needs to enable it to be as healthy as possible and function at its maximum capacity, not just preventing ill health
In an ideal world this should be achievable from eating a varied diet but in reality it is difficult to achieve due to:
Large consumption of convenience food which is deficient in nutrients
Widespread use of preservatives, colours, flavourings and additives
Environmental pollutants such as antibiotics, herbicides, drugs and chemicals
The stress of modern day life.
All these factors reduce the number of nutrients available for both the body and mind and can be responsible for poor health and many debilitating conditions.
