Mitochondria are the power stations of your body. They are in most of your cells and produce energy for all actions in your body. Exercise has direct results on how many mitochondria there are in each cell, especially muscle cells. Basically the more exercise you do, the more mitochondria you have, the more energy you have available so you can achieve so much more during the day. This process is more commonly known as METABOLISM. You can find out more from David Brownley, Personal Trainer at the Fitness works.
