Obesity claims 30,000 lives a year costing the NHS 500million pounds a year, this is causing a rapid increase in health problems such as heart disease and diabetes. Junk food advertising is largely to blame for this problem targeting adverts around family viewing time slowly indoctrinating our nations diet.
Ant and Dec’s Saturday night take away series started – and each advert stresses it is sponsored by Bird’s Eye -advertising chicken dippers – a high fat/salt convenience food made with processed chicken. This does not promote a healthy eating product at peak family viewing time.
Turning the tide of this potential epidemic is ultimately the responsibility of the individual as each of us chooses what goes into our daily diet.
