Neuro Linguistic Programing (NLP)

What does NLP mean?

Neuro relates to how our brainand nervous system work. Linguistic relates to how we communicate and how it affects us. Programming relates to how we organise our mental patterns and filter information to create our thoughts and actions.

Our body and mind are connected, but are changing all the time. From the day we are born our personality and perception of the world is shaped by the beliefs of the world is shaped by the beliefs and values of others e.g. parents, teachers, friends , partners etc. This can prevent us from developing our own personal uniqueness and lose sight of who we really are.

What is herbal medicine

As practised by a qualified and trained professional, herbal medicine:

uses preparations of plants or plant parts (flowers, leaves, bark, roots, seeds) to treat disorders on a physical, mental or emotional level. Preparations include teas, tinchers, capsuled powders, fluid extracts, essential oils, ointments, lotions and oils.

Herbs have been used to heal mind and body since the beginning of human existence and continue to play a vital and integral part in medical systems and cultures across the world. Modern herbal medicine continues to draw on this rich healing legacy while evolving in the light of new knowledge. The aim of the URHP, whose members represent different herbal traditions, is to preserve the vitality and complexity of these many strands of herbal medicine.

It was only the 19th Century that conventional medicine began to use synthetic drugs on a large scale and to dominate western medicine practice.

However, unlike conventional medicine, herbalists use the 'whole' herb or plant rather than isolating and breaking down chemical compounds and then synthesising it.

What are your feet telling you?

When standing, the healthy human foot supports on the ground at Theoretical considerations three points: the joint of the first and fifth metatarsals, and the heel bone.

Arches, similar to the load-bearing structure in architecture, span between these main points. When the feet are placed side by side, the arches form a dome-like structure.

The structure is not rigid, and the tendons and joints between the bones dampen the shocks when we are walking, making the gait cycle smooth.

Conclusions can be drawn about the static and dynamics of the foot through the examination of the supportive surface, the pressure examination of the sole.
